Dan has been a media producer and documentary filmmaker since the early 1960s. As a child he experienced numerous precognitive dreams, which stimulated his early interest in paranormal phenomena. As an adult Dan experienced a number of UFO sightings and was one of the primary on-site researchers of the events surrounding the infamous West Virginia "Mothman" incident in the mid-1960s.
Since 1995 Dan has been probing various aspects of the afterlife, including near-death experiences, out-of-body experiences, life between lives and reincarnation. Dans personal experiences include communications from his late partner Jane as well as from his late father, both of which included highly evidential phenomena and information.

What is EVP?
An FMBR Workshop with EVP Practitioner
Saturday, July 23, 12 to 3 PM
EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) is the occurrence of anomalous messages received through technical means, including analog and digital recorders, computers, televisions and telephones, has a long and well-documented history worldwide, beginning in the 1920s and continuing to this day. During this workshop, we will focus on a working definition and brief history of EVP, with an emphasis on researchers worldwide, then and now, at the forefront in the field. What do the various forms of EVP sound like? Examples of transform (traditional) and opportunistic (making use of secondary sound sources) EVP, including well established as well as newer methods, will be presented for discussion. How do we classify the EVP we hear?
Participants will work with the standard EVP classification system and participate in a listening panel, classifying EVP examples by their clarity. What is The Big Circle? Vicki Talbott shares her Big Circle story of mother and son reconnecting after his passing and their journey to the present day, with samples of several different types of EVP included. How are these voices captured, and can anyone do it? This workshop includes a live demonstration with the opportunity for participant involvement, followed by an analysis of the sessions recording and a Q and A period. While no personal equipment is mandatory, digital recorders and other personal devices such as l aptops and computers are encouraged as the workshop will include methods using personal devices, along with gibberish files for download, web sites, and on-line live streams for future exploration.
Vicki Talbott holds an M.A. in Speech Communication/TESOL from the Pennsylvania State University. She is a college administrator and faculty member who teaches linguistics and academic English to speakers of other languages. She has had a lifelong interest in afterlife studies which intensified upon the passing of her 20-year-old son. When Braden started leaving answering machine messages after his crossing, Vicki joined the AA-EVP and the Big Circle, a group of grieving parents receiving EVP contact from their children, and was able to connect with her son. In subsequent years, she functioned as one of four AAEVP Certified Proxy ITC Practitioners, helping other parents hear from/about their children. Vicki has used several methods and received hundreds of EVP from her son and others. In early 2006, she had an unsolicited ITC television contact, documented in Anabela Cardoso's ITC Journal #31, 3/2008. She's been a guest on several radio programs, including Voices Carry, Para-X, Cathies Distant Echoes, and CJEVP Research Radio. She is currently a moderator at the idigitalmedium.com live online streams and records weekly for the Big Circle. Vicki's related professional memberships and associations: Academy of Spiritual and Consciousness Studies, Afterlife Research and Education Association, Windbridge Institute for Applied Research in Human Potential.
